After Arizona Tragedy, Right is obsessed with protecting Palin

The tragic events over the weekend in Arizona have thrown the media into a tailspin. Both the Left and Right have descended upon Tucson even as many of the victim's families are grieving. The left is pointing to a history of vitriol and hate-filled analogies on the part of the tea party and conservatives. The right has called in researches to find similar comments/analogies from the left. But for the most part, the right seems mostly concerned to come to the rescue of Sarah Palin. In a weird way, the fact that the Republicans have concentrated themselves around the mama grizzly signals that even they may feel, she is the one who was perhaps the most over-the-top in using violent metaphors against the democrats, including specifically, against Gabrielle Giffords herself.

In a e-mail exchange between Palin and Glen Beck appearing in the Huffington Post, Becks choice of words indicates that even he considers Palin to be more at fault than himself. Becks e-mail is presented first, followed by Palin's response:

"Sarah, as you know, peace is always the answer. I know you are feeling the same heat, if not much more on this. I want you to know you have my support. But please look into protection for your family. An attempt on you could bring the republic down," Beck wrote. "There are nutjobs on all sides...terror is terror. I don't care if it is for Allah or your party."
"I hate violence," Palin replied, according to Beck. "I hate war. Our children will not have peace if politicos just capitalize on this to succeed in portraying anyone as inciting terror and violence. Thanks for all you do to send the message of truth and love and God as the answer."
Notice how even Beck distances himself from Palin in saying "I know you are feeling the same heat, if not much more on this." Why would he assume she's is feeling more heat? Perhaps because it was she that used the crosshair graphics?  Next, in what may be an attempt to draw attention away from the tragedy, Beck makes the following absurd remark "An attempt on you could bring the republic down". See, what kind of people these are? They are really delusional.

Palin, like always, invokes the "children" and "God" and still manages to put down those "politicos".

  1. Palin continues to be absurd but hopefully nothing will happen to her. That would not be good for anybody. She was on Hannity and she's still talking about being told to shut up- she must be hearing voices, She insists on being a victim in the vitriol controversy.
